A New World Retreat
Expressions of Personal Experiences from a 9-day retreat with Tim Christopher at La Finca de Milagros, Benitachell, Spain. Nov 3 – 11, 2018
An out-of-time sanctuary offering a unique forum to focus on the powerful individual atonement curriculum of A Course in Miracles. We join in the enlightening acceptance of the singularity of the Word of God, and the joyful self-discovery of the illuminate reality of resurrected mind in Christ.

“The retreat was beautifully presented: halfway through there was a 3 day sequence beginning with an all-night vigil around the fire with songs, prayer and laughter; followed by a gentle day of rest and silence and then a day of fasting. I had the opportunity to sing with my brothers and present a beautiful music evening for the last weekend. The joy was palpable and completely all-encompassing.

This was a helpful and safe situation in which to put the Course into practice. The retreat was a real speedup and what very quickly became available as a result of the powerfully singular sessions was an intensive immersion in the present moment in which extraordinary healings occurred.
Some of the experiences I had there elude description as they are ineffably real and cannot be adequately symbolised using clumsy words and concepts. What I can say is there was a lot of light, a lot of joy, laughter and love. The whole array of ‘little’ self-identity thoughts; private thoughts, attack thoughts, body thoughts, doubts, fears anxieties that can get blown out of all proportion in the dream of separation became insubstantial, meaningless and laughable in this healing haven.
It became much easier to let go of the burdensome sense of self (with a small ‘s’) and remember Who I really am. I am very grateful.”

“I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve now been to La Finca since my first sortie in 2016. However , I anticipated this retreat with excitement , and was even more eager than usual to join again with my dear brothers. Immediately on arrival I could feel the light , the energy ,and the love. Tim’s Sessions are intense, they are meant to be and they are very carefully thought out. It’s done this way to help enable me to have the experiences promised in our course in Miracles and speed up the interval to my awakening to the truth of my identity as the son of God. Did I have experiences not of this world ? Yes of course I did . Did I experience miracles ? Yes of course I did .. Why else would I keep coming back ! The difficult task is turning up and taking your seat, and that can be difficult indeed. But once you have showed that little willingness you may well surprise yourself. The campfire, the all-night vigil, music, teachings, meditations, videos, dance … many moments remain engraved in my heart. Then, a new girl who was at her first retreat and who had only spent a day and a half there, expressed with tears in her eyes how grateful she was for the experience, for having seen, she said, so much magic, and so much love that it surpassed all her expectations, and she would never forget it. “I feel so grateful to you all. For all the Love, and I am even grateful for the fear that sprung up, and I do want to see it in another way. I thank the organisers for their total dedication, Tim for his example, clarity, his firmness and insistence on showing me my role and encouraging me to accept it, to God for filtering through any opening He can find and opening the Heavens.
I give thanks, sometimes, for not speaking English and so not being able to share stories about ‘Rosa’s dream.’ I thank those who refuse to correspond in “dreaming” with me and who stop when I try to do it. I thank those who have allowed me to use the key of forgiveness, I thank whoever has made it easy for me to love, I thank myself for discovering what I want and focusing on that and only that.

I remember that on the silent day, I sat in a meadow of white flowers and had an experience with them: I was watching for a while as they rocked with the wind, and the bees settled on them, and I saw them so peacefully, and so in accordance with what was happening. They were so close and so I asked one of them:
Rosa: “Flower, do you not want, at some point, to be in a different place than you are? For example, in the place where that other flower is? Flower: “Where I am, I’m happy, so I cannot even think of being somewhere else if I’m already where I want to be.”Rosa: “When the wind rocks you, you let yourself rock, does it ever occur to you to fight and want to rock in the opposite direction side to the way the wind blows you? Or with a different level of strength?” Flower: “I feel happy with that movement, so why would I want it to be different if it is already the way I want it to be?” Rosa: “And would you not like to have a different form than you have? To look like your fellow flower? Flower: “I feel complete being who I am, so why be different from who I am.” Rosa: “I see that the bees are landing on you. Do you not worry about falling over? Or that they may rest more or less on another flower than on you?” Flower: “I always feel that I get the Glory, that nothing could be better or improvable, that I am safe.”
They showed me my madness in the questions and without any judgment, they spoke to me of acceptance, of simply flowing with Life, and with much sweetness they told me that they simply trusted, totally, fully. Trusting that everything happened according to a Divine order and that is why their happiness was continuing. They did not have to do anything, they just let it happen. THANK YOU “

La Finca – a rhapsody of sorts. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see. Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters. Too late, my time has come. Sends shivers down my spine, body’s shimmering all the time. Goodbye, everybody, I’ve got to go, Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth. Mama, ooh, I don’t want to die. I sometimes wish I’d never been born at all. Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very fright’ning me. Magnifico! Spare him his life from this monstrosity. So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye? So you think you can love me and leave me to die? Oh, baby, can’t do this to me, baby! Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here! Nothing really matters, only One can see. Nothing really matters. Nothing really matters to me”

“I don’t know exactly why, but every new retreat with Tim is always better than the retreat before.
Perhaps it’s Tim ( but I don’t think so, he is always great) , perhaps it’s the group (also not sure about this, the group is always marvelous), or perhaps I’m growing up and understand more……who knows ?
To describe the last retreat (from 3/11 to 11/11) in Spain at La Finca, is almost impossible. Every single day offered so many experiences. The teaching, the collaboration, the one goal: the awakening, the cooking, the shopping, the singing, the vespers, the silence, the fasting, the staying awake, the joy and the love…..all so amazing and powerful…..everything was a gift. That’ s why I can only say: thank you, thank you all !!”

And yet …..So many challenges, trying to catch the flying balloons of understanding and too often missing the target.
