Awakening to the Light – Retreat

A 9-day residential retreat experience with Simon Christopher at the Centre for Discovering A Course in Miracles, Ontinyent (Valencia) Spain.
Awakening to the light is the great spiritual undertaking of each and every individual. The light of our reality has been obscured and even though it continues without interruption, the split mind of human consciousness, which we call ego, is a contrived mechanism for the denial of the light. More than that, it is heavily invested in illusions and the belief in the false conditionality of separation.
Faith, belief and desire uphold perception of an alternative “virtual reality” and continually direct the mind towards emptiness and oblivion. – “To be told that what you do not see is there sounds like insanity. It is very difficult to become convinced that it is insanity not to see what is there, and to see what is not there instead.” – ACIM W-91.3 – Miracles are seen in light.
“When the light comes and you have said, “God’s Will is mine,” you will see such beauty that you will know it is not of you. Out of your joy you will create beauty in His Name, for your joy could no more be contained than His. The bleak little world will vanish into nothingness, and your heart will be so filled with joy that it will leap into Heaven, and into the Presence of God”

The only requirement is to identify and remove the blocks to the awareness of our present, radiant reality in Christ. To that end we will be examining and illuminating the curriculum teachings from Chapter 19, including the Obstacles to Peace. Without fear of God, the light of the eternal, we would leap into Heaven and leave all illusions behind. Therefore there is great benefit in understanding the fear of redemption so that it is recognised for what it is. The way will open up as the fear dissipates by looking directly at it.
“The Son of God cannot hide his glory, for God wills him to be glorious, and gave him the light that shines in him. You will never lose your way, for God leads you. When you wander, you but undertake a journey that is not real. The dark companions, the dark way, are all illusions. Turn toward the light, for the little spark in you is part of a light so great that it can sweep you out of all darkness forever. For your Father is your Creator, and you are like Him.“

There is great happiness as each one learns the humility to take directives from the Voice for God, the Teacher whose simple and uncompromising lessons of complete forgiveness bring about our individual awakening to the light of reality. Herein lies our journey of return to the eternal, given to us in this divinely orchestrated curriculum, – God’s plan for salvation from darkness to the light, given us through the auspices of the resurrected man, Christ Jesus, – one with us in purpose, in peace, in certainty and Truth.
