The greatest lesson offered is to perceive the body correctly\, and to no longer be held hostage to its limitations and the beliefs that are anchored in this unreasonable view. We will be examining the record\, the mind\, the dynamics that uphold the lie that the body is the self. We provide practices aimed at freeing the mind and empowering the decision-maker to understand the issue\, the difficulties and the simplicity of the solution. It is the greatest undertaking\, to see the obstacle as self-made and without meaning. It takes great learning\, vigilance and clarity of mind. Yet each holy instant contains our escape from illusions and freedom from suffering\, the unfortunate mis-identification with illusions as real brings. God’s peace and joy are ours in the unlimited nature of the reality of our true identity in Christ. This knowledge is our salvation from continuing dreams\, awakening the certainty of Spirit as the immortal nature of the One Self. \n\n\n\n\n“The body is a tiny fence around a little part of a glorious and complete idea.  It draws a circle\, infinitely small\, around a very little segment of Heaven\, splintered from the whole\, proclaiming that within it is your kingdom\, where God can enter not.” ACIM T.18.VIII.2 \n\n\n\n\nBeyond the body is the resurrection and the reality of immortal life. It is not found in anything that can be perceived\, or conceived of. Yet the reality of the Self that is not divided\, separated and bounded by a wall of flesh\, is your divine inheritance. It can be known by all who desire to go beyond the petty ways of the world of bodies\, limitations\, suffering and death. Now is the time of awakening as we seek to see the light beyond the body\, to reach out and experience the holy truth of this instant of release. For all those who would arise in Christ\, their lessons of forgiveness teach the mind directly about the mind. It has suffered for so long having identified with what can suffer\, the limited and ephemeral\, and with the world which upholds the laws of the body.  \n\n\n\nWhen asked by the Scribe of the Course about the resurrection\, Jesus answered\, “my body disappeared because I no longer held any illusions about it.” So\, for the individual aspirant\, the student of miracles\, it would be perfectly fair to state that the purpose of the plan of salvation is to relinquish the belief the body has any value or existence. In effect it takes great learning (“unlearning”) to understand and to accept the body’s nothingness. In this lesson lies the separation of our minds from the fundamental illusion on which the ego rests. It’s the lesson that removes the fear of redemption and clears the way to approach the innermost altar to holiness where the Father and the Son are one in perfect union with Creation. \n\n\n\n\n“The body is outside you\, and but seems to surround you\, shutting you off from others and keeping you apart from them\, and them from you. It is not there. There is no barrier between God and His Son\, nor can His Son be separated from Himself except in illusions. Therefore this is a course in choosing peace\, choosing over and over in all temptations to feel upset\, to attack\, condemn or see oneself as attacked. Peace must be a total choice because the choice against peace has already been established in the mind and now we choose again. First we remove the cause of conflict and upset\, then the dream becomes free of upset. \nPeace and serenity\, along with power and holiness become the experience while the dream still seems to have reality. Finally the dream is transformed to reveal what lies beyond as illusions give way to truth. This is our journey without distance in our return to the holy state of oneness\, in which no illusions can appear that could be seen to stand before the light of Heaven and our eternal reality in God. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“You who are part of God are not at home except in His peace. SUMMARY:Salvation and the Death of Specialness
DESCRIPTION:A weekend group experience on the essential teachings\, principles and practice of A Course in Miracles\, in a joyfully focused healing sanctuary for awakening the awareness of the living Christ in you. \nWith Simon Christopher in Ealing\, West London. \nSaturday & Sunday\, August 30th & 31st – 10:00am to 5:30pm daily. \nThe special self is integral to the false condition of separation\, and from this idea of specialness with which each one identifies arises a world of differences\, justifying our need to hold ourselves apart.  This specialness is venerated and enjoyed because it is not seen as responsible for the dark and ancient enmity between one human and another\, all the cruelty\, conflict and condemnation. Each one forms a special self-identity as part and parcel of the dream of separation and it becomes the means to retain a distance and a gap\, all differences\, prejudices and arrogance. All but serve to keep us from recognising the innate and fundamental condition of reality in which we are one complete and equal part of an undivided Self. And so we maintain and reinforce our specialness\, our perceived differences that serve to keep us from joining with others. We may recoil in disgust\, arm to kill\, or conversely become hopelessly attracted to the specialness we see in them. \nThe specialness of the special self concept we made\, stands between reality and our awareness of the truth. And nothing could be more unacceptable to it than the perfect sameness of all humanity as one creation in which all are given everything equally by a loving and just Creator. The Holy Spirit sees each one as equally lovable\, equally whole and equally perfect. Equal and the same in holiness with all the attributes God gave to His Creation the same in each and everyone. Nothing could be more of a threat to the special self\, at one with the illusion of a world\, both parts of one illusion that there is a gap between what is a continuous\, contiguous\, indivisible\, whole and eternal. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“The special ones are all asleep\, surrounded by a world of loveliness they do not see. Freedom and peace and joy stand there\, beside the bier on which they sleep\, and call them to come forth and waken from their dream of death. Yet they hear nothing. They are lost in dreams of specialness… and they hate the call that would awaken them. “ ACIM T.24.III.7 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTrue forgiveness transforms the concept of the self that specialness condemns to differences\, comparisons\, competition and separation\, to loneliness\, pain and suffering. Forgiveness removes all beliefs\, definitions\, attributes and identities that would impose inequality between the Sons of God\, which mark them as unequal to all the rest. Miracles humble the arrogant and lift up the poor in spirit with recognition of their worthiness. Miracles make minds instantly one to join in an instant of joyful recognition of our common spiritual reality. Beyond the littleness of the special self cherished by the ego lies the grandeur of God and our eternal unity as One Self He created us to be.Holy Spirit offers a different purpose for the specialness we made of ourselves. In service to a function we did not make\, the holy function of healing and forgiveness\, our identity is released for truth to be revealed in the light of reality. Our joy lies not in differences and all the terrible aspects of war amongst unequals\, but in realising the Self we are lies in everyone and everything. This only reflects the degree to which the mind\, the consciousness has established itself in a totally false narrative\, a self-fabricated mental fiction\, which even by its own admission it struggles to comprehend and does not really understand. \nThe singularity of our curriculum presents the dilemma exactly as it is – the body’s eyes were made to look upon illusions and prove their seeming reality to be the truth. Consequently\, the reality of truth\, the universe of love\, the light of self knowledge and the Peace of God is blotted out and entirely forgotten in our dependence on the body and its meager faculties to direct our way. It is as if we have entered a dark room and in the darkness invent a reality of our own wanting\, establishing the means to “see” it and rest content that our wishes have been fulfilled. Yet\, accompanying this state is the terror of having rejected the very Source of our existence and the projected fear of retaliation which leads to all manner of neurotic behaviours\, mad careers and paranoid delusions. This Course in Miracles is simply asking you to question the basic foundation of your unquestioning faith in unreality and start the process of awakening from the fearful dream that seems to keep you trapped as a prisoner\, to live an instant and die in the matrix of the perceived\, objective world. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Son of God\, be not content with nothing! What is not real cannot be seen and has no value… Everything you made has never been\, and is invisible because the Holy Spirit does not see it. Yet what He does see is yours to behold\, and through His vision your perception is healed.“ ACIM T.12.VIII.6 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe begin with perception itself and the dynamics that uphold and perpetuate the projection of a body and a world as existing in our awareness as real. Very gently\, or perhaps more abruptly if you wish\, the tenacious grip on unreality is loosened and we learn to depend upon the sight that we share with God’s agency of healing and reconciliation. Spirit has vision beyond the limited range of the body’s eyes. In what it sees lies our awakening to another world that can be seen with a new and healed perception. It reflects the eternal even within the illusion of the ephemeral. The reality of the Self we seek is revealed as we give up our reliance on the body’s eyes and open our spiritual\, inner eye again to look upon the truth. What our forgiving eyes look upon brings experience that no dream\, idol\, person\, place or thing could ever bring. And we love this experience because we remember what it once was like before it became unremembered in our minds. \nThis Course offers a new way of seeing\, the means are given and the choice is made clear. Forgiveness opens up the way\, releasing the mind from the sentinels of darkness and welcomes the inner light to shine in quiet certainty to bless all living things. The question we are presented with over and over until it is no longer a question is this\, – do you wish to see or not? This is the choice in which lies hell or heaven\, damnation or salvation. The body’s eyes were made not to see\, only to condemn\, judge and interpret to the perceiver\, and what could be more unreliable\, false or blind?! Spiritual sight brings a vision that shows all things in the light of true forgiveness and perfect understanding. Miracles shine in our awareness as holy innocence is recognized in each one we look upon. Christ’s eyes replace our own and what He sees is one with Him\, for He sees Christ in every living thing and everywhere. The world\, the ego and our dreams have been left behind and now God’s peace and Heaven’s joy are no longer hidden by the veil of misery and pain. Let us give thanks we have been given so complete an alternative to what we thought we made. Let us be still in an instant of eternal holiness\, remembering we are one with Him Who is our Source.
